Sadly, many firefighters from the State of Michigan have given the ultimate sacrifice as a result of service to the community. Since there is not a single database that has records of these line-of-duty deaths, we’ve embarked on a mission to gather and make this information available for free worldwide. Names have been reported to us by fire departments and additional verified sources.

We believe that it is an important part of Michigan history to maintain this roll in order to pay homage to their service and sacrifice. Unfortunately, this project will never end. More names will be added given the nature of firefighters’ work in dangerous and stressful conditions. The in-museum display and online database were funded by a grant from America250MI in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
